TaxInfo Tool could no longer be updated
The tax administration of the Canton of Bern operated the "TaxInfo" service via a tool that no longer received updates. Security gaps were prevented by means of an interim solution. Due to the temporary nature of this interim solution, it should be replaced by a new tool.
External availability as the main criterion
In order to continue operating Taxinfo to the usual extent, the new solution had to meet various requirements. For example, it was important that the new tool could provide an internal editor that was only visible to employees and an external front end that was accessible to everyone. The new solution also had to include comprehensive authorization management. As answers to tax questions are derived from relevant legal texts, the new tool had to offer the option of structuring content according to legal articles. However, the sticking point was the fact that the area published for the general public, the front end, had to match the website of the Canton of Bern.
Phonemos as the optimal solution for the operation of TaxInfo
Phonemos offers the option of publishing individual pages or areas for the general public, while other areas are only visible and editable for internal users. Phonemos also has an authorization management system. The existing SSO service could also be integrated into Phonemos. Thanks to the metadata and label features of Phonemos, content can also be easily structured and displayed according to legal articles. To ensure that the public TaxInfo service fits into the web presence of the Canton of Bern, an appropriately designed frame was built and Phonemos was embedded in it. The content of TaxInfo is also available in French, as content in Phonemos can be saved and edited in different languages.
The"TaxInfo" service operated via Phonemos can be accessed via a browser.
